Dans une scénographie qui évoque l'idée de pages d'un ouvrage éclaté, près de 150 pièces et 40 vidéos retracent cette histoire parfois oubliée. Deux défilés, deux dates clés ouvrent et ferment ce premier volet : la collection d'Yves Saint Laurent de 1971 et le défilé «les rap-pieuses» de Jean Paul Gaultier en 1990.
