The National Gallery acquires three significant 18th-century pictures

LONDON.- The National Gallery today announced the acquisition of three significant works: Jean-Etienne Liotard’s The Lavergne Family Breakfast (1754); Thomas Gainsborough’s Portrait of Margaret Gainsborough holding a Theorbo (about 1777) and Sir Thomas Lawrence’s Portrait of the Hon. Peniston Lamb (about 1790).
