The mad monk modeled with an expressive face, wearing an abbot's hat and monk's robe, open to expose the right arm and chest, seated on a recumbent tiger, all covered in a sea-green glaze save the areas representing the figure's flesh, burnt a reddish-brown. Lot 18. A Longquan celadon-glazed pear-shaped vase, 18th-19th century; 27.7cm (11in) high. Sold for £ 9,375 (€ 10,522). © Bonhams. The vase with bulbous body tapering to a tall slender neck and raised on a slightly spreading circular foot, the exterior and base all covered with an even-toned soft pale green glaze, reaching into the interior of the neck and stopping at the dark grey foot.
