the base inscribed with a fourteen-character inscription in two different seal scripts reading Jianchu liunian wuyue zao zizi sunsun yongbaoyong, translating to 'made in the 5th month of Jianchu 6th year (corresponding to 81 AD), to be treasured and for the eternal use of the sons and grandsons', wood stand.
