  Lot 47. A green-glazed bowl, Southern Dynasties, 5th century. Diameter 8 in., 20.3 cm. Estimate 20,000 — 30,000 USD. Unsold Photo Sotheby's. the heavily potted bowl rising from a straight foot to deep rounded sides with a groove below the rim, the sides incised with upright lotus lappets, covered overall with a yellowish-green glaze suffused with crackles stopping unevenly at the foot to reveal the pale gray body burnt orange during the firing.  Notes: See a closely related...
