'Modigliani and the adventure of Montparnasse. Masterpieces from the Netter and Alexandre collections' at Livorno City Museum

Amedeo Modigliani (Livorno,1884 - Paris, 1920), Fillette en bleu, 1918, oil on canvas, 116 x 73 cm, collection Jonas Netter. The great retrospective in the artist's hometown on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of his death. On 22 January 1920 Amedeo Modigliani was taken, unconscious, to the Hôpital de la Charité in Paris and died there two days later at the age of only 36, struck down by the then incurable disease of tubercular meningitis that he had miraculously managed to survive twenty years...
