The unusually elongated vessel carved to the body with elegantly sweeping leaves amongst rockwork, between a cross hatched band at the shoulder and swirling waves and rockwork at the foot, all covered in a crackled sea-green glaze. 35cm (13 3/4in) high. A rare robins-egg glazed baluster vase, Daoguang incised six-character mark and of the period (1821-1850). Photo Christie's Image Ltd 2014. The bulbous vase is raised on a tall spreading foot, surmounted by a flaring neck, with a pair of chilong handles to either side. The entire vessel is covered in an evenly mottled blue and turquoise glaze. 10 ¼ in. (25.9 cm.) high. A rare relief-decorated Famille verte baluster vase, Kangxi period (1662-1722). Photo Christie's Image Ltd 2014 The vase is of slightly tapering cylindrical shape with a tall neck and flaring mouth. It is decorated in high relief around the body with a basket and a vase containing flowers between two tripod censers and covers. Boldly painted in a vivid blue colbalt with alternating panels of long-tailed birds amongst prunus or peony and hermits outside their retreats, the mountains rising high above them, the shoulder and foot with bands of moulded foliate lappets enclosing peony, the tall neck with two more mountainous scenes separated by a moulded band. 43.5cm (17 1/8in) high.
