Lot 1470. A rare brown lacquer petal-lobed box and cover, Southern Song-Yuan dynasty, 13th-14th century; 6¼ in. (16 cm.) diam. Estimate USD 6,000 - USD 8,000. The cover has a flat top surrounded by thirteen rounded lobes that curve downwards to the upright sides, and the box is of similar shape and raised a thin foot of corresponding outline.
