Photo Hampel Figure on lid ca. 1900. Vessel, handle and figure on cover in ivory with parcel-true silver mounts. The vessel is carved in the round in bas and high relief showing a battle of Roman legion aries against the barbarians. Seated above the battle scene on a chariot is a Roman Emperor in scale armor with a radiant crown and scepter. A fierce battle is Depicted around him. The...
