Chinese Bronze Round Lid with Inlay, Late Eastern Zhou Dynasty, late 4th-3rd century B.C.E. Bronze with silver and gold foil inlay, D. 13 cm. © Miho Museum. The size of this roundel, the height of its sides, and the trench around the edge on the underside suggest that it may have been the lid of a lacquered wooden vessel, now disintegrated. Each slightly convex side is finely carved with tiny whorl-shaped spirals within incised borders at the plain inner and outer rims. A Rare Pale-Green Jade Chilong Scabbard Slide, late Eastern Zhou Dynasty (1028-221 BC). Photo Stockholms Auktionsverk, the chilong body is attached to the plate with tail, legs and head, the twisted tail is partly extending over the edge, utilizing the russet natural markings in the stone, length c. 13 cm.
