A very long and heavy archaic jade ceremonial blade, China, later Neolithic period, ca. 3rd to 2nd millennium BC. Photo Nagel tthe very long and thick blade of dark grey jade is partly covered with a thin white, chalky deposit as a result of being long time buried in the earth. The condition and also the remarkable thickness of the blade provethat the initial shaping ofthe future blade has already been done, but the grindling process of this blade had only started.
