Each vividly painted in bright underglaze blue with a mountain scene variously containing a tiered pagoda, a river with fishing boats and other mountain retreats on each side, the flat shoulders with foliate scrolls in each corner and the slender cylindrical necks each with the upper and lower jaws of an unusual grinning monster head emerging from the shoulder towards the rim of the vase.
