Ceremonial swords achieve top price in record-breaking Bonhams £1.5 million Japanese Art Sale

Superbe et très rare boîte à papier laquée noir (ryoshibako). Fin période Edo. Photo courtesy Boisgirard et Associés Elle est ornée de coquillages tridimensionnels, tous décorés de laque d’or et d’argent maki-e ainsi que de nacre. On peut également voir des motifs de pins en laque maki-e or et argent. Des coquillages figurent sur le couvercle et les quatre côtés de la boîte alors que son intérieur est parsemé d’aiguilles de pins peintes.
