Former Queer As Folk star Gale Harold has been seriously injured in a motorcycle accident in Los Angeles.

Harold was the only person injured in the accident, and are representative of his told Us Magazine that, "he has fractured his shoulder and is under observation to assess any possible further injuries."

The 39-year-old Harold is currently starring on the TV show Desperate Housewives as the boyfriend of Teri Hatcher's character.

Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry told the Associated Press that Harold was also suffering from some swelling to the brain but he had been told that the actor would make a full recovery.
