A large blue and white bottle vase, tianqiu ping. Qianlong

Thickly potted with a tall gently waisted neck rising from a globular body resting on an unglazed recessed base, painted in underglaze-blue with large peony blossoms borne on leafy meandering vines, between key-fret and ruyi bands at the neck and a jeweled lappet border encircling the foot, the tips of the leaves and petals spotted with deeper tones of blue to simulate the heaped and piled effect. 65cm (25 1/2in) high.
