each finely potted with shallow curved sides supported on a slightly tapered foot, gently flaring at the mouthrim, painted on the interior in rich cobalt tones with carefully shaded angular rocks and bamboo leaf sprays flanked by a knotty pine and a gnarled flowering prunus tree, all within double line borders repeated on the rim, the exterior decorated with a lady seated on a terrace watching two boys playing in a garden under a willow tree, the base inscribed with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue.
