A 'Dehua' Figure of Guanyin, 17th-18th century - Sotheby's
portrayed seated on rockwork supporting a bowl, holding a bixie, wearing an elegantly draped robe extending to a cowl covering the chignon, adorned only with bangles encircling the wrists of the separately made hands. Height 10 1/8 in., 25.7 cm. Estimation: 8,000 - 12,000 USD
PROVENANCE: Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis R. Andrews, 'Tulip Hill' Anne Arundel County, Maryland and thence by descent.
