each thinly potted, enameled on the exterior with two deer, one with recumbent white-spotted brown deer and yellow deer, the other with standing white-spotted brown deer and recumbent aubergine deer, with scattered sprigs of lingzhi and ruby-colored bats above, each with a six-character mark in underglaze blue within a double circle (2). Diameter 2 3/8 in., 6.2 cm. Estimation 40,000 — 60,000. Unsold

PROVENANCE: Christie's Swire Hong Kong, 1st-3rd May 1994, lot 671.

NOTE: One other pair with identical decoration and size was sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 14th November 1989, lot 297.
Another pair, with similar decoration of two deer, but not identical was also sold in our Hong Kong rooms, 29th October 1991, lot 248.
