Printed in blue with the 'Two Swan Precipice' pattern, the Chinoiserie riverscape adapted to fit the very different shapes of the cup and the saucer, saucer 12.2cm diameter, unmarked (2). Estimate £750 - 900 (€900 - 1,100)
This is one of a small number of Chinese style landscape patterns representing the first use of transfer-printing in underglaze blue, see Branyan, French and Sandon, pattern II.B.3.
