the deep rounded sides rising from a short spreading foot to an everted rim, carved around the exterior with two rectangular panels, one enclosing a farmer seated on a buffalo playing a flute, the other with a man riding a donkey playing the qin, the transparent metal of rich ruby-red tone, the base inscribed with an apocryphal four-character Qianlong mark;  16 cm, 6 1/4  in.
