with slightly everted sides, supported on a slightly concave splayed foot, incised with a double fillet encircling the exterior and applied unevenly to the upper register and the interior with a translucent green glaze, wood stands; 9.3 cm, 3 5/8  in.

NotesA cup of this type, from the collection of Mrs E. Bennett, was sold in our London rooms, 24th May 1955, lot 120. See also three green-glazed cups, but lacking the incised rings, sold in our London rooms, the first from the Malcolm MacDonald collection, illustrated in Irenes Laszlo Legeza, A Descriptive and Illustrated Catalogue of the Malcom MacDonald Collection of Chinese Ceramics, London, 1972, pl. III, no. 8, and sold 29th March 1977, lot 77, the second sold 3rd December 1963, lot 49, and the third sold 13th December 1983, lot 128; and another cup sold in our New York rooms, 4th June 1982, lot 73.
