the white-rimmed bowl with a splayed foot, covered overall in a lustrous black glaze with five russet splashes, save for the rim covered with a white slip band beneath a clear glaze; the dish with a shallow countersunk base, applied with a black glaze and a white slip to the rim; the russet-splashed bowl with a flared rim, covered in a black glaze with russet streaks to the interior radiating from the centre, Japanese wood boxes. The larger bowl 17.8 cm, 7 in.; the dish 12.7 cm, 5 in.; the smaller bowl 15.8 cm, 6 1/4 in.
