Tang carvers became highly skilled in the creation of realistic design, and got rid of grain pattern, cloud pattern and other decorative design which prevailed in the Han Dynasty. A Hetian celadon jade Bi-disc, detailed dragon and phoenix design in shallow relief on both sides, sensitively incised with claws and wings. Diameter16.5cm, Thickness 1.1 cm.
