The cup with flaring sides is carved in the form of a large magnolia flower with six overlapping petals. The exterior is detailed with serrated leaves borne on gnarling branches extending upwards to form the handle issuing buds. The material is of a rich honey colour..
Provenance: Acquired in China, 1931, and thence by descent within the family to the present owner.
