Lot 1376. A rare Ru-type vase, Yongzheng six-character sealmark and of the period (1723-1735); 7 in. (17.5 cm.) high. Estimate HKD 600,000 - HKD 800,000. Price realised HKD 1,200,000. © Christie's Images Ltd 2006.

Well potted with a compressed globular body rising to a broad cylindrical neck, the vase is covered overall with an even pale greyish-blue glaze, box.

Note: A Yongzheng-marked vase of this unusual form with its wide mouth and compressed body is in the Zhuyuetang collection, included in the exhibition, Shimmering Colours, Art Museum, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2005, and illustrated in the Catalogue, p. 148, no. 77.
