of conical form, the interior incised with flower sprays, applied overall save for the footring with a creamy-white glaze, metal-bound rim.
Note: A slightly smaller pillow, similarly modelled in the form of a reclining lady, was sold in these rooms from the Muwen Tang collection, 12th November 2003, lot 18. Another pillow of this type from the collection of the Denver Art Museum, Colorado, was sold in our New York rooms, 8th May 1981, lot 235, and was included in the exhibition Chinese Ceramic Pillows from the Yeung Wing Tak Collection, Museum of Oriental Ceramics, Osaka, 1984, cat. no. 8. Compare a third example, dated to the 16th year of the Dading period of the Jin dynasty, equivalent to AD 1176, illustrated in Guantai Cizhou yaozhi/The Cizhou Kiln Site at Guantai, Beijing, 1997, pl. 124, fig. 4.
