carved in the round with a recumbent buffalo, its muscular body well defined with a bushy tail curling around its hind leg, tied to the nostrils with a long rope grabbed by a standing boy, his hair tightly wound into a bun, dressed in a long-sleeved outfit and trousers, the celadon-tinged white stone with russet veining, fitted stand.
Provenance: Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1970s.
