carved with a shield-shaped body rising to a waisted neck, supported on a stand with a band of fretwork in openwork, decorated in the round with lotuses and daisies, all finely depicted in low relief, the vase flanked by a pair of openwork handles, each adorned with flowers, foliage and a loose ring, the fitted cover topped with a lotus finial, the translucent white stone of an even creamy tone.
Provenance: Acquired in Hong Kong in the 1970s.
