the shallow, rounded sides set over a tapered foot, the interior centered with an emerald-green-enameled five-clawed dragon writhing in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl', flame scrolls encircling the beast, all enclosed by a green band bordered in underglaze-blue lines and repeated at the rim, the exterior similarly decorated, the base inscribed with a six-character seal mark in underglaze blue.
Provenance: Collection of Jiang Yizhi (1874-1940), and thence by descent. Mr. Jiang founded Xingge Bank in Zhejiang province.
