Bvlgari
Over 130 years of history, Bulgari has been synonymous with brilliant color, symbolic storytelling and unrivaled craftsmanship. Deviating from tradition, Bulgari developed a bold and unprecedented style, using unusual color combinations of gemstones and playing with different cuts and shapes to create unique pieces of its own. Bulgrai’s jewelry came alive in a rainbow of color combination, and in all things Bulgari, magnificent luxury is key.
Originating in Rome, Bulgari was founded as a jewelry shop in 1884 by Greek silversmith Stirio Bulgari, who has reinterpreted the majestic symbols of Rome with the extraordinary editions of splendid jewels and watches. The brand came to the attention of global elite and hosted movie stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn, with its iconic designs of color and intricate work of craftsmanship, such as the snake-inspired bracelets/watches that have begun as early as the 1940s; using a technique called Tubogas, which was inspired by a technique from Roman times.
Paying tribute to its Greco-Roman heritage, the Serpenti collections draws inspiration from Greek and Romany mythology, where snakes represented positive characteristics of rebirth, healing, protection, strength, and eternity. In the 1960s, a variety of Tubogas-style Serpenti watches were introduced, and a specially made Serpenti adorned the wrist of Elizabeth Taylor on the set of “Cleopatra,” further drawing attention to this icon-in-the-making.
The Serpenti collection and many other collections from Bulgari have evolved greatly over the years yet remained true to its original roots. The brand has created many iconic pieces with remarkable craftsmanship, and exceptional attention to detail, and one wouldn’t expect any less, which is why so many have sought after Bulgari’s designs and loved the brand so much over the years.
