The present dish is well potted that the shallow rounded sides are deftly carved on the interior with a large peony bloom with tiered petals and a small bud borne on a dense leafy stem. The petals and leaves are bordered by classic scroll with trefoil leaves issuing from a continuous undulating scroll. The exterior is carved with two peony flower heads on opposite sides of the knife-pared foot. Both peony flowers are surrounded by fleshy leaves covering the entire ground. The dish is overall covered in a rich olive-green glaze.
