the shallow-rounded sides rising from a flat base and a tapered foot, painted on the interior with a 'lotus-bouquet' below a frieze of composite foliate scroll in the well and a band of classic scroll on the rim, with a further band of composite foliate scroll on the exterior, six-character mark in underglaze blue.
Provenance: Acquired from Senator Hugh Scott, Pennsylvania, 1987, and thence by descent.
