carved in the round as a toad crouching with its front legs placed alongside each other, the four toes on each leg well defined, its eyes inlaid above its wide mouth, its back pierced with an aperture and fitted with a stopper carved in the form of its young resting atop its body, the bamboo patinated to a warm caramel-brown colour.
