Provenance: Acquired circa 1960s-1974, and thence by descent within the family.
Note: Li Yin, who lived in Yangzhou, was well regarded for his landscapes and bird-and-flower paintings. He was praised for his skill copying paintings from the Tang and Song dynasties and for the beautiful coloring of his compositions.
