The vase is decorated on one side with with a group of scholars along a riverbank greeting two ladies as they approach in a small rowboat below the scholar Wenchang dressed in long flowing robes with his demon-like attendant Kuixin standing on clouds above, and on the other side with a lush scene of rocks and trees.
