Jades from the Shijiahe-Xiaojiawuji culture (c. 2100-2000 BC)
These two jades commonly mistaken for pieces from the Longshan culture, actually belong to the Shijiahe-Xiaojiawuji culture (c. 2100-2000 BC). One is a jade eagle, the other is a jade hairpin inlaid with turquoise.
They are both typical of the Shijiahe style in Yangtze River valley. The hairpin was indeed unearthed at the Shandong Xizhufeng site.
