Guan ware Bottle vase, Jiaotanxia official kiln, Song dynasty (960–1279)

This vase was unearthed in Shanghai in 1952. It was produced by Jiaotanxia official kiln, one of the five famous kilns in the Song dynasty (960–1279). According to a Song dynasty record, vessels in this shape may be used for containing flowers. It is currently in the collections of the Shanghai Museum .
