Silver openwork perfumier, Tang dynasty (618-907). Unearthed from Hejiacun village, Xian City in 1970. Shaanxi History Museum.
This object was made in the shape of a ball that was divided into two hollowed hemispheres with a pattern comprised of flowers, honeysuckle, grapefour birds. Inside the lower hemisphere there are two concentric rings. It could remain a horizontal position at all times so that the condiment in it would not spill.
