DUBLIN, IRELAND.- An exhibition of sculptures by two of the giants of 20th-century art – the American sculptor Alexander Calder and the Spanish painter and sculptor Joan Miró – opens to the public at the Irish Museum of Modern Art on Wednesday 4 April 2007. The eleven works in Alexander Calder and Joan Miró have been brought together in IMMA’s magnificent 17th-century courtyard in celebration of the long-standing friendship between the two artists, which began in the 1920s and continued up to the time of Calder’s death in 1976.
