An art deco sapphire single-stone ring, probably by Bulgari, circa 1925

The cushion-shaped sapphire, weighing 5.10 carats, within a pierced floral gallery millegrain-set with single and rose-cut diamonds, to a bevelled hoop, unsigned, ring size I½ - Sold for £7,000 plus Premium and tax

Note: Accompanied by a certificate from the Gem Testing Laboratory of Great Britain, stating that the sapphire is of Sri Lankan origin and no evidence of heat treatment was detected. Certificate number 0127536, dated 17th October 2007.

Provenance: A member of the current owner's family purchased this ring from Bulgari in the mid 20th century.
