The Hermit’s Prey-Dong Wensheng’s Solo Exhibition @ Magee Art Gallery, Beijing
Of the new short years into the new century, Dong Wensheng’s artwork has completed a transfiguration. He has transitioned from adolescent experience to historical expression, like a gem found in nature having the earth, water plant or rubbish washed off, and then revealed as a gem of significant statue, seemingly a condensing process, yet expressing an expanding idea-which is the primary reason that we should look forward to it.
