The bucket with scrolled handles curved results with another vessel (see Inv. No. V 194) is a matched pair. The slightly wavy cut gives the vessel a "flickering" surface that is caused by reflected light.Flowering branches and tiny insects that are cut as INTAGLI act weightless floating in clear crystal base. The style of the crystal cut, the bucket shape as well as the filigree studded with lapis lazuli amended to refer to the typical style of Giovanni Battisita Metellino (active in Milan in the last quarter of the 17th century to 1722/23).
