the rich brown ground finely worked on the front and back with nine five-clawed long dragons couched in gold-wrapped threads in pursuit of ‘flaming pearls’, amidst multi-coloured cloud scrolls, bats, and the bajixiang('Eight Buddhist Emblems'), all above sprigs of dianthus and auspicious emblems rising from rolling and crashing waves above the lishui band, with dark blue borders at the cuffs and collar decorated with striding dragons
