A pair of celadon-ground iron-red-decorated 'Phoenix' bowls, Daoguang six-character seal marks in underglaze-blue and of the period (1821-1850). Photo Christie's Image Ltd 2014

Each bowl is potted with deep rounded sides, raised on a short tapered foot. The exterior is decorated with phoenix roundels in iron-red, with a further phoenix roundel to the interior, all on a pale celadon ground. 5 ¾ in. (14.5 cm.) diam. Estimate £15,000 – £20,000 ($25,215 - $33,620)
