Aubergine-colored velvet with gold thread embroidery. Short jacket with long sleeves, worn by women in the sultan's court. Rich embroidery on front and back. Cotton lining. Back length: 37 cm; sleeve length: 46 cm; collar width: 33 cm. Good overall condition

The present short velvet jacket from the 19th century was intended for women at the court of the Ottoman Sultan, and was worn on special occasions. It consists of aubergine-colored velvet and is embroidered with twining gold thread embroidery on large parts of the front and back. The inner side is lined with cotton fabric. The embroidery dissolves in a few places from the velvet, otherwise the jacket is in good overall condition. The back length is 37 cm, and the sleeve length is 46 cm. The collar size measures 33 cm.
