he large stone of mottled green and white streaked with brighter apple-green inclusions, exquisitely carved as a refined lady with a hair tied in a high chignon and long, flowing robes tied with a tasseled ribbon, holding aloft a flower vase incised with a lotus, the elegant figure standing beside Lake Tai rock-work issuing peony buds and blossoms and lingzhi fungus heads and sheltering beside a tall plantain with luxuriantly spreading fronds; mounted on a wire-inlaid wood stand. 13 1/2in (34.3cm) high
