The bowl is incised on the exterior with two dragons pursuing flaming pearls amidst flames and two cruciform clouds above rocks and waves, all under a dark aubergine glaze on a green ground. 4 3/8 in. (11.2 cm.) diam., box

NoteCompare a related bowl of similar size, also with Jiaqing seal mark, included in the exhibition, Qing Mark and Period Monochrome and Two-Coloured Wares, S. Marchant & Son, London, 7-26 June 1992, no. 51. Two other similar bowls are illustrated by G. Lang in The Powell-Cotton Collection of Chinese Ceramics, Birchington, Kent, 1987, nos. 109 and 110.
