with rounded sides supported on a gently tapered foot, rising to a flared rim divided into six foliations, the exterior encircled by two double-line borders, covered overall in a creamy ivory glaze, pooling around the footring; 10.2 cm, 4 in.

Notes: Bowls of this small size and elegant lobed form are unusual, although two slightly larger bowls modelled with vertical ribs on the interior and exterior, from the Gustaf Lindberg collection, were sold in our London rooms, 12th December 1978, lots 125 and 126; and another was sold at Christie’s London, 11th June 1990, lot 83.
