The bowl is potted with rounded sides tapering towards the everted barbed rim and raised on a tapering foot. The exterior is carved with upright lappets below a chevron band, and the interior with a single lotus sprig, encircled by further lotus scroll on the cavetto. It is covered overall with a glaze of pale sea-green tone with the exception of the rust-orange base, Japanese wood box.
