sturdily potted rising from a short straight foot to a thin concave groove below the rim, the deep conical body covered in a thick black lustrous glaze with fine russet striations radiating from the rim, the glaze stopping above the foot revealing the dark brown body, the rim bound metal, Japanese wood box.
